Mythic Bastionland - THE LAST AGE Campaign Module
Biblical Cosmic Horror Campaign for Mythic Bastionland
INTRODUCTION
THE LAST AGE is a Campaign Module for Mythic Bastionland. It offers 12 new Myths, a full realm map prepared for those myths with a interconnected sprawling lore and story and with full description for its landmarks and sites.
THEMES AND TONES
THE LAST AGE is a story about humanity's last years, as heaven falls and hell ascends.
As an horror, It deals with sensitive topics such as violence, war, the excrutiating reality of death, and the crunchy sound made by human bones chewed by sharp teeth.
As a biblical horror, THE LAST AGE explores faith, rebellion, the weight of sin and liberation from its expectations, but also the perseverance of humanity faced with otherwordly forces at war, kindness and kinship born of the struggle, and most of all, hope in antagonism to faith.
As a biblical and cosmic horror, THE LAST AGE explores the vast - and not entirely coincidental - connections between the cosmic lovecraftian nightmares and angels, demons and even God.
But most of all, it will help you guide a story of hope, chivalry, human connections, and show that even in the End of Times, the good we can do matters.
Consider the following principles for THE LAST AGE:
- NOT ALL IS GRIM, HUMANS ALWAYS HOPE
- THE END IS INEVITABLE
- WHAT YOU DO COUNTS
STRUCTURE OF THE REALM
The best experience for this Campaign Module is to play the map as is. The Realm of THE LAST AGE is called Peccatum, and is a standard 12x12 hex realm. It comes with the Myth Hexes already set (even those yet to come), and the land is filled with landmarks and monuments so grotesque or massive, they fill whole hexes.
WHAT IS NEW
THE LAST AGE proposes a less random structure for its Myths, together with a expanded Wilderness Roll using a D8, special landmarks and a few new mechanics. Also, each Myth has 7 omens.
WHAT IS THE SAME
Everything else.
HOW TO USE THIS MODULE
THE LAST AGE is best played with its suggested campaign map and its slightly different Wilderness Rolls and Myth Rules. Even if that's not what you seek, this module offers 12 myths, 24 detailed descriptions for landmarks, 8 special landmarks unique to THE LAST AGE, and 10 sites that populate the world of Peccatum.

MYTH - GLUTTONY
Be advised the myths can be graphic.
A modest farm. Cows on a field lay on the ground, bloated and heavy breathing. A concerned farmer complains they are eating the pastures away. Three vultures pick one of them still alive, and will fight for their food.
A large buffalo lies dead. Next to it, a bloated tiger, belly up, heavy breathing from devouring most of the buffalo. Three vultures pick the tiger's leg, already on bone. They fly away at any approach, patiently circling above until the Company leaves.
A pile of rotting corpses. A chunk of it is eaten away by massive engorged maggots, slowing eating the pile. If touched, they explode violently (VIG save. If Success, D6 SPI. If fail, D6 VIG and become diseased).
A gorgeous apple tree in the middle of a dead field of dry land and plants. A beautiful naked man eats one of the many juicy apples from the branches. If approached, the man circles the tree out of sight, and vanishes. Anyone that eats an apple knows of a great feast to happen on the Myth Hex. They also must make a SPI save, or eat apples compulsively (D6 VIG).
A dozen commonfolk on all fours line themselves on a half barren wheat field, eating it away. Among them, partaking, the beautiful naked man, laughing innocently. The commonfolk will keep the Company away from the man at any costs.
Signs of a brutal struggle on the road, a cart toppled, its horses far ahead in a frenzy. In the center, the beautiful naked man playfully sucks in the intestine of a knight lying on the ground, half alive. His chest plate is opened, destroyed. If interrupted, he retaliates.
A cozy hut in the wilds, smoke billows from its chimney. A line of people on the door, holding bowls to be served. Inside, the beautiful naked man lies on the table, chopped and being served, smiling and laughing. Any that partakes lose their appetite permanently, but not their hunger.
