Writing my Odd Game

Humanity is dead, long live Humanity

Do you want to play a group of androids exploring dungeons made by their dead Gods in a hostile planet in order to scavenge for body parts to not break down and perish?

Well, do I have news for you.

These ideas have been brewing in some different forms by now.

Idea #1 started as a full novel concept, but the time to put that down into words felt even more daunting than this, and this is no joke.

A society where humanity died off, and its creation is left to decide what they are supposed to do, then. A society of synthetic humans living in the shadow of their now extict Gods and Creators. Some renounce their gooey and flawed forefathers, some live in their honor and shape. I doubt this book idea will die down with this, but let's call it a rental.

Idea #2 was a steampunk TTRPG. Items were the core element, different elements would build more advanced equipment. It never really became more than this; soft concepts for classes like Specialists having more item slots for one body part vs Allarounders have a more balanced set. Ideas were had then lost to give place to other ideas.

And this is currently idea #3, the amalgamation from both its parents.

A world beyond our own, where humans left to never return, and the local Synth life is now left to fend for themselves and survive from the scraps of their old Gods.

A WEIRD SURVIVAL SCIFI TTRPG.

WEIRD. Humanity is gone, either dead or never to return. You play as Synths, a remnant society left behind in that finite rock. Hostile and alien fauna and flora, dangerous and obscure human constructions, in an uncaring and unforgiving land.

SURVIVAL. Decay and entropy are evermarching as the tick of time breaks down limbs, burn down memory chips, and blows out fuses one by one. Find new parts, or become scrap and be cannibalized.

SCIFI. The humans came from the Stars, but synths were born here, made from materials brought from distant planets. Some hold onto the idea of following the Creators to their home with the technology left behind. But the Stars are far away.

TTRPG. An Odd inspired system. Roll under to succeed, Rolls to hit are non existent, and attacks hit your attributes. Flesh wounds heal, but broken parts don't.

So, yeah. Create a group of scavenging synths, exploring incomprehensible dungeons made by Gods and killing other synths to steal their bodies.
