Rules to rule

SCRAP. Should be constantly scarce. If they ever hit a jackpot, give them a hard decision. Don't take it away, make them give it themselves. To achieve this:

Roll D4 if defeated by physical damage. Otherwise, roll a D6.

D6 Droid Remains
1 Nothing
2 1 Scrap
3 1 Scrap
4 2 Scrap
5 2 Scrap
6 Random Body Part

DAMAGE TYPES. Bonked or zapped. Weapons that deal mixed damage.

DROID DEATHS. Dying for body damage, mind damage or spark damage should be and feel different.

SITES. Dungeons are the core location in the game. Instead of top down, sites can be built from a sidescroll PoV; start from the top two row, and down we go. Expand possible and average nodules to 8-9.

CHARACTER CREATION TABLE. Two to three Body Parts per new starting Character. Into the Odd Reference table because it rocks. Mausritter sprinkled on top because they made it even better.

Rules to not rule

SETTLEMENT BUILDING. I don't think this should be a thing. I am unsure if the Party should consider a settlement its base; soon all ruins nearby will be spent, and the Scrap distance will not scale accordingly. They should be on the lookout for the next settlement on the horizon, not the last.4

FAUNA AND FLORA. No plants, no animals. Misery comes from steel, and this place has no metaphorical silver lining. Pointcrawl the rock away.

GAMBITS AND FEATS. You are cool, Mythic Bastionland, but these are no Knights. Going back to Into the Odd combat reference here. "Advantage becomes d12 damage / Impaired is D4 damage" is more than enough.

  1. D20 feels appropriate for its capilarity and allowing for fine tuning these percentages; mint condition (D4) only on a 1, almost broken (D20) only on a 20. Not an elegant solution as is.

  2. Is this going to be it? Settlements and Ruins, Droid and Humans? Exploring nature or havinf natural locations are not particularly interesting to me to add; anything you are crawling from one point to the other is the irrelevant bits, after all. I suppose I could have a Scrapped Ruins (abandoned) Table and Scrapped Ruins (hostile) Table, but I feel the randomness of finding either even if you travel 2 Scraps for it feels the right amount of unfair.

  3. Module felt smoother than Body Part.

  4. Settlement missions could be a thing. People pay Scraps to send news and parcels around.
